Philiphaugh Manor Care Home has provided high quality residential care for the elderly since 1990. The home stands in its own attractive grounds, in St Columb surrounded by beautiful countryside, just 7 miles from Newquay and the Cornish north coast, Our gardens offer a safe environment for walking and there are numerous secluded areas in which to relax and enjoy the abundant flora and fauna. We have wireless emergency pendants that work throughout the grounds so you will always be able to call for help.

Accommodation

Philiphaugh Manor has 31 bedrooms, 27 of which are en-suite and 30 are for single occupancy. The bedrooms are split between ground and the first floor, which is accessible either via the staircase or stair-lift. The new Show Suite, with en-suite bathroom and wide screen TV, will be coming soon. The Courtyard suites and Penthouse rooms will also be coming soon.

Each room is fully furnished to a very high standard. We do encourage residents to bring items of their own furniture if they wish, together with other items with which to personalise their room.

Each room has its own individual character, and has:
  • Its own emergency and aid call bell.
  • Fitted carpets & curtains and comfortably furnished.
  • Centrally heated, with their own in-room heating control.
  • T.V. aerial socket with excellent digital reception.
  • Telephone point.
  • WiFi Access.
  • Emergency call system, so that even in the privacy of our resident's own room, a helping hand is always nearby, if required.

We also have rooms which are wheelchair accessible, including an accessible bathroom.

Philiphaugh Manor

The house itself is a listed building, extended via two wings. The tasteful refurbishment and modernisation is now under way. Coming soon is the Show Suite with en-suite bathroom and widescreen TV. As are the courtyard Suites and Penthouse rooms.

It is important that residents feel "at home" rather than just "living in a home". We actively promote, encourage and honour individual choice in virtually every aspect of our residents' stay with us.

We operate our dining rooms in the style of a high quality restaurant with waiter / waitress service and plenty of choice and menu variation and daily 3 course lunch. The rooms have lovely views over the gardens and countryside beyond.

Breakfast in bed is always available, the choice is always yours.

All laundry is prepared in-house using professional equipment.

We operate a No Smoking policy throughout the building with a facility at the rear of the building for residents and visitors.

Inhouse Amenities

We have a shop which is available daily, a visiting Hairdresser who visits at least once a week and Chiropodist, Optician, Dentist and Clergy of all denominations, several of whom run services or visit on request. Please visit our pages for the latest events listings. We have our own transport arrangements for regular local trips and transporting residents to various clinics or medical appointments.

Visiting

Friends and relatives are most welcome to visit and participate in activities and outings or to join them for lunch. Families are especially welcome to join in celebrating birthdays and special occasions enjoying mouth-watering home made cakes. As we always encourage visits, there are normally no restrictions or fixed hours for visiting, and we have ample car parking, so the family can use us as a base for shopping when visiting.

Pets

We know how important they are in our lives and we are happy for you to bring your pet with you to your new home. Subject to availability, we have a number of rooms direct access to the garden making them an ideal home to share with your pet.

Plants

We know how important house or garden plants can be to you; so why not bring them with you when you move in? We have dozens of house plants around the home that need plenty of TLC. Why not join our Gardening Club and help with watering, plant care, propagating and flower arranging? We even have outdoor borders and a greenhouse ready for green fingers!
